The Problem
Nearly 150 children at the Government Higher Primary School in Hale Rolli village depend on a toilet block that is barely usable. There is no water supply, no plumbing, and no sanitary fittings. The flooring is broken, the walls are crumbling, the roofing is damaged, and doors are missing — offering no privacy, hygiene, or safety.
Girl students are the worst affected. The lack of a private, usable facility causes daily discomfort and drives absenteeism — and in rural Karnataka, missed school days too often become dropped-out students.
Both the boys’ and girls’ toilet blocks require complete renovation. This is the school’s single most critical infrastructure need.
A School We Know Well
This isn’t a school we just discovered. Sadrusham has partnered with Hale Rolli school for multiple years — providing academic essentials every year, mentoring students through Jnana Sadrusham, and building education awareness among families in the village. The results are visible: fewer dropouts, more girls staying in school, and growing community support for education.
