School Uplift Initiative

At Sadrusham Foundation, we believe that a child’s learning environment shapes their future.
Our School Uplift Initiative focuses on revamping school infrastructure, introducing digital learning tools, and ensuring clean water and sanitation facilities creating safe, inclusive, and tech-enabled spaces where children can thrive. By raising funds and partnering with communities, we bring long-term, sustainable improvements to under-resourced rural schools.

Success Stories

1. Hudali Government School – Sanitation Transformation

Located in rural Karnataka, Hudali Government School faced serious sanitation challenges, particularly for girl students. Poor facilities led to discomfort, hygiene issues, and frequent absenteeism.

With the support of Euromonitor International, Sadrusham constructed a dedicated toilet block with clean water access, creating a safe and hygienic environment.

Impact:

  • Improved daily comfort and hygiene for all students
  • Significant increase in girl student attendance
  • Boosted morale among teachers and students

2. Boodihala Government School – Decade of Support

Serving over 200 students, Boodihala Government School in Raibag Taluk, Belagavi District has been closely associated with Sadrusham Foundation for more than a decade. What began as a small effort to supply notebooks and school essentials has evolved into a comprehensive educational support partnership.

Impact:

  • More girls pursuing higher education due to scholarships and mentorship
  • Annual distribution of learning materials reduces dropouts
  • Early marriages significantly decreased
  • Growing awareness among families about the value of education

3. Solar Lamp Project

Many rural students struggle to study at home due to frequent power outages. Traditional kerosene lamps are unsafe and costly.

In partnership with Selco Foundation, Sadrusham is implementing LED solar lamps for students in Boodihala and other remote schools, ensuring uninterrupted, renewable, and safe lighting for evening studies.

Benefits:

  • Safer alternative to kerosene lamps
  • Environmentally friendly and cost-effective
  • Enables students to study longer and more effectively

Current Challenges:

Even today, children at Boodihala Government School continue to face serious challenges that affect their health, safety, and ability to learn.

1. Lack of internal plumbing and connected water supply

2. Broken floors, incomplete structures, and no drainage

3. Unsafe drinking water

Through the School Uplift Initiative, we aim to revamp toilets, water supply, and essential infrastructure, providing dignity, safety, and continuity in education.
